Hello and welcome to my blog. I wanted to take a little time and tell you what this blog is all about. I hope to make contributions a couple of times a week on topics related to general heath and wellness and, of course, weight loss. I’m always on the look out for new things that look interesting and I hope to share those with you here.

I’ve been “pleasantly plump” my whole life and am in a constant battle against the bulge. I love to cook and eat what I cook, but I’m not really a fanatic about exercise. (That’s probably part of my problem- Ha!) I’m mainly just a walker and I only want to do enough to keep my jeans fitting. Living in Kansas, this winter and walking haven’t really gone together all that well. We’ve had snow on the ground since Christmas. I hate to jinx things, but it looks as if we’ve finally taken a turn for spring with the coming of March, so I’m on a renewed commitment to get back into walking!

This winter I’ve also been on a quest to learn how to cook better – less bad fats and more nutritional value in quality ingredients. I hope to also share some of these recipes with you from time to time as well.

I also would like to share information on the BeeLean supplements and their ingredients. I think these are some of the best products on the market and I have to say that I’m really excited to be a part of the company. I feel, however, I need to inform you that I am an independent distributor of the BeeLean products and the BeeLean Company doesn’t necessarily share any of my opinions!

I look forward to getting to know you!

It is an accepted fact that exercise is an important part of any successful weight loss plan. Every muscle you have can burn calories, so the more you work them, the more calories you burn. Don’t just depend on dieting alone. Move that body and do some exercises to achieve that weight and that body you have always dreamed about.

Walking is great exercise to lose weight. Moreover, it does not require any expertise or equipment and you can do it free anytime you feel like it. However, to be beneficial, you should do it regularly. Make walking a daily habit or at least 3 to 5 times a week depending on your schedule.

Before you start walking, do some warm up stretching exercises. Stretch only as far as you feel comfortable so as not to pull any muscles. Start with a modest goal, like 15 to 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. Gradually extend the duration and the speed. Walk up one or two gentle slopes. Your walk should be comprised of three segments: warm-up, exercise pace and cool-down.

Walk with your chin up and your shoulders held slightly back.
The heel of your foot should touch the ground first. Roll your weight forward.
Swing your arms as you walk.
To avoid stiff or sore muscles or joints, start gradually. Over several weeks, begin walking faster, going further and walking for longer periods of time.
Walk on soft ground whenever possible.
Quench yourself, drink 8 to 10 ounces of water for every 20 to 30 minutes of the activity.

The more you walk, the better you will feel. Plus, walking also uses more calories; thus, burning more fats. Its benefits include giving you more energy, making you feel good, helping you to relax, reducing stress, helping you sleep better, helping control your appetite and increasing the number of calories your body uses.

To lose weight, it’s more important to walk for time than speed. Walking at a moderate pace yields longer workouts with less soreness leading to more miles and more calories spent on a regular basis.
